  Had a great experience. I was able to schedule a same day appointment. (was a Wednesday, so I wouldn't expect the same late in the week) Lucy is very skilled with her scissors! I have long hair and looking to get layers. I explained the details of what I wanted and she delivered effortlessly. I can't tell you how many times I've explained my details to hairstylists and just end up with something similar, at best. Very happy with my hair and her service. Reasonably priced. Calm environment. Plenty of on street parking, that day at least. I will be returning and recommending.

  My family always used to go to Lucy’s for all of us to get our hair cuts. But lately their service have gotten really bad..I’ve literally called them 4 times today and not one of them picked up the phone . i even called them twice last week and no one ever answers their phone.. but yet if I go there in person they would not take me if I do not have an appointment. But yet no one ever picks up the phone like come on now that’s how you ruin your business.

  Lucy's Beauty Salon (51 Westfield Ave, Elizabeth, NJ 07208)- Very unprofessional, inconvenient, and inconsiderate. (See below) I came into this shop a week before I set an appointment (with long braids in my hair) to ask how much a blowout would cost for my hair length. I explained to the "secretary" that my hair was her length (collar-bone), she sent me to another lady (she had black hair and a blonde strip) to answer my question. That lady told me they would need to see my hair and then give me a price. My husband mainly has our because he works, therefore, I didn't have a car and I have a new born so traveling back and forth is a challenge for me. The following week came, I called and scheduled an appointment that very day. The lady couldn't speak English so I couldn't even ask for an estimated price. So that day happened to be 90 degree weather and as I stated before I have a baby and no car. So I walked in 93 degree weather with my baby to the salon. I get to the salon sweaty and struggling to get my baby's stroller up that step (NONE of the (5) women there helped me). I asked how much my service would cost. I'm thinking it would cost $25 and maybe an extra $5 for a trim. They told me it was $40 because of a deep conditioner. Then I asked them to leave out the deep conditioner they still wanted to charge me $40. So the lady asked me how much do I have I said 30 ( but I had a $5 tip). They did't not try to reason with me or have any consideration for me in walking in the scorching heat and having my baby with me. I also explained to them that I tried to ask for a price earlier in the week in order to avoid wasting my time. They didn't care not even a little bit. Now I could've easily just maneuver my money and pay $45, but I didn't do that because there was no professionalism, consideration, or thoughtfulness. Though I really needed my hair done, I refuse to give my money to inconsiderate or misunderstanding women. Also, I truly believe this was a prejudice act, I am very convinced because all of the 5 stars and good comments are coming from their very own race.

  This review is for the salon on union st!!! That place was horrible it looks dirty and the lady was extremely rude she did a horrible job on my 2 yr old which by the way doesn’t move or cry so there was no reason for the bad service! When I told her I was unsatisfied with the service she gave me a bad attitude and began to insulte me!! And still charge my husband $12 for the horrible job... I never been treated that way before i will never step foot in that place again!!! Not worth the money or the time... extremely unsatisfied!!!!

  The customer service is actually bad , I went to go get a hair cut and dye & Lucy didn’t want to dry my hair after it got dyed talking about it looks better like that, which it didn’t wth & when I made appointment that following Friday they were being petty because I told them I had an emergency which I did I had to take my sisters somewhere... they said that I should’ve been there earlier or told them earlier like you don’t plan an emergency it just happens. Rude as hell. After I was apologizing and begging . & I still gave more money In tips which now I regret! Never stepping foot there ever again!!!!
